Community Garden

I have taught in the school garden for over five years now, working with students as young as kindergarten, up to senior-level extended essay projects and initiatives. The garden boasts over 50 rows of vegetables, a greenhouse for winter crops, an herb garden, a purpose-built compost bin, and 18 hens in the chicken coop! Although we live in a densely populated and urbanized city, students come here to connect with the natural world. From soil testing, aeration, and seed germination, to caring for the chickens and turning the compost, I am proud of our community's efforts to bring this space to life for our students.
